Practice and experiment a bit when it comes to grinding. Its hard at first, but gets a lot easier later on.
How To Grind in Lag
Most players, when they lag, the character no longer moves and simply dies as soon as the connection is restablished. Because the character is frozen it is the reaction of most players to not move at all. However, this will only result in your death. When the connection packets do catch up, you are no longer casting spells and running therefore the whole train catchs up to you and you die and due to auto potion lag of course.
What you should be doing is this:
-Do not pull trains greater than 5 monsters.
-If your character is indeed frozen, do not stop clicking, click far away from the train as possible. this is where F11 and F10 camera angles are better than F12.
-do not attempt to cast two spells, it will interpret that you have stopped moving and the distance you have put between you and the mob is reduced. When then packets catch up you would have taken damage from the entire train for the next 2-3 seconds. i.e INSTANT DEATH
-After casting the first spell click far away as possible, then when its seen, click far away get a good distance cast the second spell and so forth.
-If you are less than half way of your HP, run for it and cast Mass Snare...run and get a good distance...followed by wind quake to buy time.
Since I experience lag quite a lot, you would imagine how much experience I would have grinding in absolute lag. This is the general observation, which I have experienced in the past couple weeks and has served me quite well. I hope this benefits you guys/girls when it comes to high traffic times on the server.
How to Grind Efficiently
The importance of grinding efficiently is critical because it will determine how much you can spend in the future on equipment and stones.
I suppose efficiency is a very loose term, it can mean optimal experience gain and minimal death or simply the lowest amount of potion used with a high potion recovery rate.
At levels 1-49
At the lower levels its possible to grind so that you would not need to purchase any potions from the NPC. This method saves alot of money, which can be used to purchase unique items in the future levels.
This however will require you to grind outside for 50% of your exp and 50% inside the dungeon. This way you get a good mix of items/gold/experience.The other thing, is that you need to grind mobs 5 at a time rather than pulling long trains, you'll realise that this method usually gives you least deaths at lower levels.
